Crystal Valley is not only a historic manufacturing region. It is a living network where fashion, design, craft, and education meet throughout the year, and the 2026 calendar opens that network through events at different scales.

The first half of the calendar opened with Jablonec's Sparkling 160 city ball, marking 160 years since the town received city status. Made in Jablonec brought jewelry and fashion together on 28 January under the theme “Memories of the Future,” while Easter in Crystal Valley at the end of March directed visitors beyond displays and into manufacturers' own premises.

The completed first half

June placed glass education beside public celebration. Lustrfest in Kamenický Šenov combined an open-air glass and lighting festival with the 170th anniversary of the local glassmaking school. The YGS 2026 children's glass symposium in the same town and the glass festivities in Nový Bor showed the tradition operating through education and local life as well as professional presentation.

Next stops: August

August is the calendar's densest design and fashion period. Křehká krása presents the glass and jewelry industry with runway shows in Jablonec from 6–9 August; Jablonecká Perle mixes gastronomy, music, market stalls, glass, and jewelry on 21–22 August. Crystal Valley Week then spreads exhibitions, installations, a crystal market, and fashion events across Liberec from 24–29 August.

Moving closer to the workshop

September and October move closer to production culture. Skleněné městečko turns Železný Brod into a glassmaking festival, while ŠperkFest in Turnov connects contemporary jewelry with stone cutting from 5–17 October. Its international contemporary-jewelry symposium and workshop access bring tools and process into view before the finished object.

Crystal Valley Weekend opens more than fifty workshops across the region on 17–18 October, making it one of the calendar's most direct encounters with production. Glassmakers' Week runs in the same period across Czech locations to commemorate hand-blown glassmaking's UNESCO intangible-heritage inscription. Crystal Christmas closes the year with designers, traditional crafts, workshops, regional products, and a winter market in Liberec.

Building the route

A useful visit combines more than headline festivals: one fashion event, one museum, and at least one open workshop reveal the region's real scale. Crystal Valley makes it possible to read a finished bead alongside the school, maker, tool, and town behind it. Because the program is updated as new events are added, dates and venues should be checked again on the official calendar before travel.
